V: Land of DIY

Maia and I have first turned on to DIY projects thanks to PS I Made This…
Minus a few failed attempts RIP t-shirt scarf, we’re still trying!
You will need:
– 2.5 yards of Ribbon (Available at craft stores, but styles vary on location)
(You will have enough materials for four headbands= $20.)

First, cut the desired length of ribbon for the front of your headband. It should cover the length of your forehead comfortably. (We used 10 inches.) Then, trace and cut the same length on the felt. The felt will provide the backing for your feathers behind the ribbon. Therefore, you should choose a color that compliments with your ribbon.
Arrange the feathers by height, using the tallest in the middle. Using the fabric glue, begin to glue feathers onto the middle of the felt strip. Once your feathers are in place, allow the glue to dry completely before continuing on.
After the glue is dry, hold up your headband to see that it looks even. (Some feathers might need a second layer because they can come off iridescent.) Once you are satisfied with the feathers, you are now ready to glue the ribbon onto the felt strip. Be sure to press gently and allow plenty of time to dry afterwards.
Yay! It is now time to glue the felt onto the elastic headband. Press gently and allow it to dry before rocking your new feather headband.
Welcome to the land of spray paint, super glue, & a whole lot of creativity!
