Beautified: Bundled Up Beauty

It’s -15 degrees. Well… isn’t it just tropical in Chicago?
Here are a few tips to stay beautified and bundled up-

Dress Warmly
Wear plenty of layers. Choose layered, wool, or fleece socks. If your clothes become damp, such as your socks, change into clean, warm items.
Quench the Thirst
Be sure to moisturize to avoid dry, rough skin. Not only does the cold weather outside hurt your skin, but so does turning up the thermostat. Look for a treatment that is oil-based, not water-based. The oil creates a protective layer over the skin. Oils such as avocado or almond oil prevent clogging. Plus, if you use any cleansers, make sure they’re extra gentle on your skin.
Help Your Hair
Opt for a moisturizing conditioner to avoid your hair from drying out. Use a leave-in conditioner as well. To avoid frizzing, use a boar-bristle brush.

Get Lippy with It
Ban chapped lips. Drink plenty of water. Ensure that your diet is full of plenty of nutrients. Do not pull at any rough, existing skin. Instead, remove any dry skin by dampening the lips with warm water and softly brushing a toothbrush against the lips. Afterward, apply Vaseline.

Happy Hands
Choose warm gloves when going outside. However, if you’re like me, cracking still might be a problem no matter how much you bundle up. The skin on the hands is thinner, so it’s important to nourish it. Lather up, buttercup!
Bathing Beauty
As much as a nice, hot bath sounds like a good way to stay warm, it’s best to avoid it. It actually strips the body of moisture. Instead, opt for lukewarm water. Apply moisturizer to the skin afterward.
Stay warm everyone!
