Merry Christmas!

Over the past 24 hours I’ve struggled to keep my eyes awake. Every task seems to take monumental energy; just sitting makes me nauseous.

My sister and I often bake cookies and watch cheesy Hallmark movies. Yet, there I was struggling to stand up long enough to make one batch. The last of my presents unwrapped, and the final pieces of Christmas just aching to be done. Yet all I could think about was going to bed.

Christmas isn’t about buying the perfect gift. Sure, those moments are special. Sure, it’s wonderful to see the smiles on their faces when you know you’ve hit jackpot.

As I’m struggling to get by, Maia took over, baking hundreds of cookies in just a handful of hours by herself. She then offered to wrap my last present, when I could barely keep my eyes awake. Christmas is about the sister who takes on extra so you can rest or the mom who buys you extra cough syrup. It is the people who impact our lives throughout the year that are the true present. Be thankful and be sure to let them know how much they mean to you on this very special day.

So no matter what you get this year, let us give thanks to the not-so-materialistic side of Christmas.
Yes, you heard us. Shopping isn’t everything.

But hey… those brand new studded heels don’t hurt either.

Merry Christmas!

Love, V
