Oh man, we are just two weeks away from Christmas. Have you made a dent in your holiday shopping? Cough… Not to worry. There is still enough time to create thoughtful gifts that will spread holiday cheer. Here are some tips on getting creative this holiday…
First, reflect on your special someone’s interests. What are they passionate about? What would they appreciate? Use this information as your guide. (For instance, a cooking themed gift for your foodie “wrapped” in an oven mitt.)
Next, decide on your budget. This will help give you an idea of where to go and what options you’ll have available to you. If you’re anything like me, though, you’re limited to a strict budget. Use Pinterest or Etsy as a resource to come up with creative DIY alternatives to reduce cost. This can vary from DIY bath bombs to sugar scrubs. The possibilities are endless.
Stay open minded. Don’t be afraid to go outside your comfort zone for the perfect gift. Craft fairs, markets or swap meets can be a great place to find a one-of-a-kind item at a reasonable price.
Don’t forget to consider your talents too! For example, if you’re an artist, paint or draw a picture of something personal or memorable. If you’re an avid baker, share your goodies with that sweet tooth.
So now that you have a few guidelines, why not share some advice of your own? What have been some of the best gifts you’ve received?
