I was excited to get 3 of the 4 Harry Potter x ULTA eye shadow palettes — out earlier this summer. For $16 each, these were fun to try. Some of the colors are difficult to blend, but overall they are fun and worth the low price. Unfortunately, they are sold out, but I’d still love to share some Harry Potter inspired looks.
Let’s talk about some of the other products I tried in this series (and aren’t sold out):
- Stila, Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Molten Midnight ($24)
- Nars, Rosecliff lipstick ($26)
- Nars, Lovin Lips lipstick ($26)
- Rockins, Big Fat Liner ($25)
- NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Eyeshadow in Polished Pinup ($8)
- Essence, Lash Princess mascara ($5)
TL;DR: these products are a win all-around.
I love both the Nars Rosecliff and Lovin Lips lipsticks. I feel like Rosecliff, which is a warm-toned brown shade, is something I could wear more often. I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to lipstick, so this shade is perfect to put it on and forget it.
Rockins Big Fat Liner is great for bold looks. It can go on a little thick, but it worked for these looks. I wouldn’t make it an everyday liner, but it’s fun if you’re looking to make a statement.
The Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow and NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Eyeshadow are both fun, if not slightly impractical. These are definitely perfect for a night out. But, I could see using some lighter shades being used sparingly in an everyday look. I would actually say they are similar in quality, despite the price tag difference.
Essence, Lash Princess mascara is a score for the cost. But, I still remain a dedicated fan of Better Than Sex mascara. But, this is perfect for a cheaper alternative.
