V: DIY Wine Shelf

I moved in the last few months, which has resulted in a lot of odds and ends finding themselves without a purpose. Specifically, this $15  Target bookcase (in white). While my books have found themselves new homes, I have run out of storage for my hand painted wine glasses. I decided to repurpose this little number and am quite happy with the result.

What you’ll need:

– Bookshelf or bookcase looking for some TLC

Spray paint

Wine glass holder

Wall paper

– Electric power screwdriver & appropriately sized screws (may vary by wine rack holder)

WineShelf

I opted not to use the backing, which was cheap and poorly made. I spray painted the “bones” with Valspar Primer + Paint in charcoal to go with the new color theme. (Read: guy approved colors.) While that was drying, I used Devine Color Stitch wallpaper to adhere to the shelves. They come in several must-have prints, too! Just be careful to avoid air bubbles when applying. It helped to have two sets of hands, one to help hold the wallpaper while the other slowly placed the paper down and release any existing bubbles. Then, fasten the wine racks where you would like.

You could choose to incorporate some additional features, such as bottle racks or even add wheels to create a bar cart. Share your favorite DIY projects with us in the comments section below!
